Our Behind the Scenes Process for A Nontoxic Home

At Artisan Home Health, we focus on 3 main toxicant categories-

chemicals, heavy metals, and EMFs (electromagnetic fields)—and we talk about what integrative nontoxic living looks like in these terms.

Integrative nontoxic living simply means that these categories apply to every room of the home as well as our lifestyle. So think of chemicals as they may apply to the cleaning or personal care products you use, think of heavy metals that may exist in the houseware items you use, and think of EMFs, or radiation, that may be coming from your wired or wireless devices.

In order to prioritize reducing these toxicants in our homes, so we can set ourselves up to thrive, at Artisan Home Health we use a decision tree. In other words, we reduce toxicants to create a nontoxic home using a tiered system. And we want to give you a behind-the-scenes look at how this process works and how we can create a decision tree specifically for you and your family.

Start with a Comprehensive Roadmap for a Nontoxic Home

Integrative nontoxic living looks at everything we do, eat, and buy. It is a holistic view of all the things we bring into our homes that impact our health. Targeting the 3 main toxicant categories above can be done by focusing on any of the following:

  • Your kitchen

  • Your baby’s nursery

  • Your personal care items

  • Your textiles and clothing

  • Your home as a whole

After all, chemicals, heavy metals, and EMFs can live in each of these areas inside of our homes. That’s why we customize our approach to meet our clients’ specific home needs—we reduce a client’s exposures based on their family’s habits, needs, and budget. We understand that no lifestyle design is the same, so we curate and tailor our approach based on the needs of our clients to achieve the greatest reduction of toxicants possible.

Focus on the Most Prevalent Toxicants within Your Home

The role of Artisan Home Health is to prioritize the reduction of toxicants in your home. If you’re interested in prioritizing by toxicant, then we focus on the main ones that can be found within a home which include:

  • VOCs

  • PFAS

  • EDCs

  • Heavy Metals

  • Flame Retardants

  • Pesticides

We can focus on one toxicant at a time or several at a time, and we can prioritize the toxicants within your home for you if you are unsure about them. Artisan Home Health collaborates with each of our clients and creates a custom and curated approach based on an initial (paid) consultation and a home walk-through.

Receive a Curated Blueprint for Nontoxic Living

Once we have come up with a curated approach for creating a nontoxic home, we create a custom Blueprint for Nontoxic LIving for our clients to follow.

For example, if a client is focused on fertility and wants to reduce EDCs in their home, the lifestyle questions we’ll ask will be centered around that particular toxicant. To further tailor this client’s roadmap for reducing this particular chemical, there might be further exploration into EDCs in the kitchen and in personal care items.

Based on the answers we can gauge how much exposure a client is experiencing and where we can focus on removing this toxicant in the home. This creates a roadmap and actionable plan to reduce EDCs from their home and lifestyle. This roadmap would include credible scientific resources for why removing EDCs is important, food and product swaps, lifestyle adjustments, and wish list tips to reduce EDCs in the future.
