Let’s Make One Lifestyle Change at a Time
Hello! I’m Jennifer & I consider myself an artisan of nontoxic living. As a Social Worker, mother, & public health advocate I believe in access to health at home.
I believe that having choices for nontoxic living is a birthright & can be offered in small but impactful ways. As a mother I know that giving the gift of health is especially important for our children. In this work it is my hope that we promote transparency in products, prioritize families, & create a kindred community together. I have not only researched this 4th pillar of health, I have lived it. As someone who closely understands what it’s like to be on a healing path, I recognize that we must do so with compassion and kinship. It is brave that you are here and I look forward to guiding you on your health and fertility journey!

How I Became a Nontoxic Living Consultant
I first became interested in nontoxic living in my twenties because of my passion for health, the environment, and human rights. These roots along with a BA in Psychology help inform the work that I do and allow me to reach people in a real human way.
In 2011 I completed an MSW from DU in Denver, CO. As a Social Worker I refined my values around equal access to health and our capacity for resilience. It was several years later when I became a mother that my passion project became actualized, and Artisan Home Health was born.
Preparing for a child is unique to everyone and I had certainly done so with what I knew were informed choices. Living with lupus and facing a high risk pregnancy I practiced nontoxic living devoutly. In dreaming of becoming a mother I wanted to optimize my own health and that of my unborn child. And I was blessed with a healthy outcome. Yet even so, when my son was born I felt like I was swimming in a seas of conflicting opinions and false marketing. I knew that my son deserved the best from me and from the world around him, so in the few and far between hours that he slept, I researched the safest products that would protect us both. This time with my infant son was the most exquisitely beautiful time and also one that challenged me & my knowledge of the nontoxic industry.
Small Changes Matter
That’s the moment Artisan Home Health truly came to life because if I couldn't find a guide for me, then I would become the consultant who would come in and help mothers prioritize changes based on their home needs, toxicants, exposures, you name it! If I couldn’t find her, I would become her. I would create for them what I needed when I was them—an affordable nontoxic roadmap with all of the answers.
As a Social Worker and family advocate I know small changes matter and can make a huge difference. I like to think of myself as a modern-day Erin Brockovich and, as she would say, “If you follow your heart, if you listen to your gut, and if you extend your hand to help another, not for any agenda, but for the sake of humanity, you are going to find the truth.”
This is a humble path toward truth that I walk. It is one toward building a nontoxic community and raising the standards for industries tasked with protecting us from harm.
I walk this path with rebellious hope for our future & I’m honored for you to walk it with me.
Our Core Values
-
We recognize that our collective health is paramount. Communities often experience poor health effects from the production of the things we bring into our homes & then those same products can impact our health further. So working collaboratively on our choices informs how health becomes more valued.
-
This is compassionate work and your well-being is at the forefront of what we do. This work is especially important for our most vulnerable loved ones, our children.
-
We approach nontoxic living with environmental health and holistic human health in mind. From the lens of Social Work we look at the whole person and their environment, and prioritize social and environmental justice along the way.
-
We have the power to make changes at home that are within our means. And we believe that even the smallest of changes can have a profound impact, creating a ripple effect for more communities to have a healthy home.
-
We are committed to providing a transparent service to our clients and are consistently expanding our knowledge base to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information available.
-
We support conscious consumerism and recognize the power it has to bring awareness to transparent brands that value health, sustainability, & human rights.
-
We understand that we cannot change everything all at once, but we know that we can make small, manageable, and concerted efforts for change to occur.
-
We know our bodies are resilient beyond measure and are designed to heal. So lessening the body burden may be the single most impactful healthcare decision we can make.
-
We like to say that we are resourceful in how we approach this work and when presented with a challenge, we are able to approach it with a creative solution.
-
We believe that this work is not only in service to our individual health but in service to the collective health and safety of all those around us. Part of the ethos of AHH is to hold entities tasked with protecting our health to a higher standard.
INTENTIONALITY
How We Approach Our Work
To us, this work is purposeful and intentional. Consider the work we do together as a spark of hope in what can feel like an overwhelming and complicated process.
Our hope is to help people make one lifestyle change at a time. And we are creating a rallying cry that safer products and safer environments are needed today for future generations to come. This isn’t just for our health but for our great-grandchildren’s health.
The ripple effect of what we choose to put in our homes will impact legislature and hold companies accountable. Because we believe that everyone has the right to clean air, clean water, and a safe home. Choosing to create a healthy home may be the single most impactful health care decision you can make.
